Sirius and XM to Announce Merger

Xmsirius

There’s word that the two major satellite radio networks, Sirius and XM, have been working on finalizing a merger plan and will announce it officially today. The new combo network would have more than 12 million subscribers and content would be shared, meaning Howard Stern, professional sports and other once-exclusive content will be aired on the new network.

There is a possibility the deal could fall through due to regulatory concerns, and there’s no word on how hardware will operate or if the subscription price will rise. The deal could save the two companies $7 billion a year. If you’re an XM or Sirius subscriber, sound off on what you think of the new deal in the comments below.
